Mission
The Denver Chorale’s mission is to engage, encourage, and serve the community by sharing the love of music and excellent musical performance. We advocate the virtues of music, especially its healing power and guiding contribution to social movements. We gladly welcome the participation of all people interested in supporting our endeavors.
The Denver Chorale was founded in 2009 by Valerie Lewin Montaño with a vision of creating a vibrant choral community rooted in artistic excellence, meaningful connection, and a love of music.
Over the next 17 years, the Chorale grew into a respected ensemble known for thoughtful programming, passionate performances, and a welcoming community of singers. Valerie’s leadership established the artistic foundation and values that continue to guide the organization today.
In 2026, the Denver Chorale entered a new chapter under the leadership of Dr. Baker L. Purdon. Building on a strong legacy, the Chorale continues to evolve as a dynamic cultural organization committed to artistic innovation, community engagement, and exceptional musical experiences.
Today, the Denver Chorale brings together singers and audiences from across the Denver region through performances that inspire, connect, and enrich our community.
